Why You Should Visit Your Dentist For Teeth Whitening

It’s no secret that many of us are self-conscious about our smiles, especially if they aren’t as white as we would like. Stains from drinking coffee or natural discolouration due to ageing are common culprits for having darker teeth. If discoloured teeth are getting you down, then perhaps it’s time to consider teeth whitening.

Here at Withers Dental in Toowoomba, we offer two of the most advanced teeth whitening procedures, including Zoom! Advanced Power in-chair whitening and Zoom! NiteWhite home whitening kits. Which procedure you choose depends on a number of factors and as each patient is unique, we aim to offer you the best treatment to fit your teeth-whitening goals and lifestyle needs.

WHY GO TO A DENTIST?

Teeth whitening is a safe and relatively simple procedure that can yield significant lightening in most cases, and as long as you follow the maintenance plan set out by your dentist, the results can be long-lasting. If you are looking to brighten your teeth and have a more radiant smile, then the first port of call should be to visit your dentist. Depending on your medical history and any issues you may have, from pre-existing fillings to sensitivity, they can advise on the best course of action to revamp your smile and ensure the best possible results.

IN-CHAIR TEETH WHITENING

If you are after instant results for a bright, rejuvenated smile straight out of the chair, then the Zoom! Advanced Power in-chair whitening system is perfect for you. Following a complimentary consultation to assess suitability for the treatment, impressions of your teeth will be taken in order to create personalised trays. A strong whitening solution will then be applied to your teeth, utilised in conjunction with the Zoom! Advanced Power lamp in four 15-minute cycles. Best of all, to help maintain these jaw-dropping results, all of our patients receive a complimentary mini home whitening kit.

AT HOME TEETH WHITENING KIT

Perhaps you are always on the go and don’t have time to sit in the dentist’s chair to whiten your teeth. For clinically proven teeth whitening on your own schedule, the Zoom NiteWhite home whitening kit is a great option. The process is similar in that custom-made trays will be fabricated to fit your teeth perfectly. All you have to do is pop the trays on your teeth, which will be filled with the whitening gel, either overnight or for two to four hours a day. This process takes about two to three weeks, after which your progress will be reviewed.

WHAT’S REQUIRED FOR MAINTENANCE?

Our involvement doesn’t end once you leave the dentist’s chair and all of our patients will receive ongoing advice on how to maintain their new smile. For those patients using the home whitening kit, results will be reviewed with your dentist after a couple of weeks of use.

For a bespoke treatment plan, whether you are after instant or gradual results, Withers Dental can advise on the right approach to get your pearly whites looking as good as new. Contact us today for a complimentary consultation and you will be one step closer to bright white teeth and a radiant smile.
