At Withers Dental, we believe prevention is better than cure. To keep your teeth in great condition we recommend you join the Active Maintenance Program which involves regular check-ups with our dentists and hygienists.
This program helps to keep your teeth clean, your breath fresh and your gums healthy. The hygienists and dentists work together to tailor prevention plans and detect any issues in the early stages in order to prevent costly treatments.
Issues in the mouth – and especially the gums – can lead to more serious general health concerns. Gums that are red, puffy and bleed when brushing and/or flossing are inflamed. This is known as gum disease. Left unchecked, the inflammation will cause the jaw bone to die and rot. The affected tooth will become painful and loose, and will probably need to be removed. Several studies have linked gum disease to systemic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and pre-term delivery of low birth weight infants.
Please note: All invasive or surgical procedures carry risks. Some people may not be suitable candidates for this procedure. Your dentist will discuss all risks prior to commencing any treatment.
