Clear Invisalign Hold by a Dentist on Toowoombo

At Withers Dental we have seen that Invisalign has become an increasingly popular choice for straightening uneven teeth or smiles with a lot of gaps.

There are many reasons why they are a much better option than traditional metal braces for many people. Of course, not everyone is a good candidate for Invisalign, but talk to your dentist today to find out if they might be a viable option for your smile.

Here’s why they’re such a great choice.

They’re Invisible

As the name implies, Invisalign braces are nearly invisible when worn, unlike the more commonly used metal version.

This is especially attractive to adults who need to wear braces and improves the overall look of your smile during treatment.

You won’t have to worry about unsightly brackets or rubber bands showing when you smile, which you’re going to love.

They’re More Comfortable

Metal braces have a lot of parts, including brackets and wires that can poke and scrape the inside of your mouth, leaving sores behind. They can also get caught on your lips, cracking them or cutting them open.

Metal braces also cause a significant amount of discomfort when they’re tightened or when the rubber bands are changed. On the other hand, Invisalign is much more comfortable to wear and can be removed for eating.

Less Risk of Other Dental Issues

Metal braces increase of the risk of certain other dental issues, including gum disease and cavities. That’s because it’s harder to keep teeth clean when you’re wearing them. Invisalign can be taken out while you eat, which reduces the amount of bacteria in the mouth and can be cleaned and brushed before being put back in.

There’s also less risk to your teeth in general when you choose Invisalign over metal braces.

Shorter Treatment Time

One of the biggest perks to Invisalign braces is that the length of treatment is much shorter than it is with metal braces.

Instead of many years of wearing braces, you can often get treatment done in half the time.

For some patients, Invisalign treatment can be completed in just 12 to 18 months instead of the more standard 5 years that many patients with metal braces have to undergo.

The speed of your treatment depends on your dental needs and it’s important to follow your dentist’s guidelines for speedy treatment.
