Treatment

Depending on your specific situation and the condition of the jawbone, Dr Withers will create a treatment plan to suit. The total time for treatment can range anywhere between six months to over a year depending on the complexity of treatment.
Diagnostic x-rays and a CT scan will be obtained prior to surgery and throughout the procedure to establish and maintain the condition of the underlying structures. Careful and detailed planning is required to identify vital structures such as bone density that may have an affect on the length and cost of the treatment.
For a dental implant procedure to work the quantity and quality of the jaw bone is assessed. The bone has to be strong enough to hold and support the implant. If there is not enough bone, more may need to be added with a bone graft procedure.
At Withers Dental we will provide a thorough examination and once the case has been assessed a second appointment will be made to discuss cost, expected duration and itinerary for treatment.
The process does require minor surgery; this can be performed as an outpatient under general anesthesia, oral conscious sedation, nitrous oxide sedation, intravenous sedation or under local anesthesia by trained and certified clinicians.
